URCC says MMA fight on between Baron Geisler, Kiko Matos

URCC says MMA fight on between Baron Geisler, Kiko Matos

It's on.
After publicly inviting Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos to settle their differences inside the ring, URCC confirmed that two have accepted the challenge to fight on June 25.
The call was made by URCC president Alvin Aguilar on Monday, after reports surfaced that Geisler and Matos figured in a bar brawl over the weekend
“We’d like to extend the invitation to Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos. If you guys are really going to fight, the URCC cage is open for both of you,” Aguilar said. “Do it there instead of in the bars. So you’re very very welcome.”
Later on Monday, URCC announced that Matos has accepted the challenge.
"Kiko Matos already got in touch with our new match-maker, Ronald Catunao and said that he will fight Baron Geisler inside the URCC cage on June 25, 2016. Kiko Matos will start training as soon as Baron Geisler confirms as well. Stay tuned!" the promotion announced.
It didn't take long before Geisler also gave the go signal for the fight.
"Baron Geisler just contacted our match-maker over the phone and says that he wants to settle everything with Kiko Matos inside the cage on URCC Fight Night this coming June 25, 2016 at the Palace Pool Club," URCC confirmed through its Facebook page on Tuesday.

7 Easy Ways To A Clean House When You Have Kids Around

7 Easy Ways To A Clean House When You Have Kids Around

All parents know this: it is hard and tiring to maintain a neat house with children.
With kids, there is an endless stream of their items entering the house: toys, books, supplies, etc. Every day, the mess piles up and the house looks like a tornado swept through it. The good news is, with planning and intentional effort, restoring balance to the domestic realm and regaining some floor space is possible. Here are some tips that will help.

1. Declutter And Purge

Most kids tend to have lots of toys but only a few favourites. Observe what toys your kids play with, and donate or sell the ones they do not really care about.
If unchecked, clutter can mushroom quickly again. No time-starved parent likes to spend their free time decluttering so one way to stop this cycle is to limit the items entering your home. If doting relatives want to buy your kids gifts, ask for cash or tickets to a family experience like to the zoo, or a performance.
On your part, rationalise purchases for your kids, especially bulky ones. Do you really want a hefty Jumperoo as an ongoing fixture at home? Consider toy rental instead.

2. Get Organised

Good storage solutions are essential to an organised home.
Some parents opt to renovate and build new smart storage solutions. But if renovation is not an option, baskets, boxes or storage stools do the trick as well; better still if these fit under the bed or the sofa! Also, see if some toys can be stored at the grandparents’. This entertains the kids when they are over to visit and reduces clutter for you; a win-win move.
Store similar items together (e.g. art supplies all in the same box) so that you do not have to hunt madly next time. When tidying up, leave some space around shelves and cupboards so that everything immediately looks less cluttered; instant Zen.

3. Instill House Rules

Every household should have some golden rules, such as these:
Put everything back in its place. Once done, return all items to their original places so that it is easier to locate them again. This prevents mess from building up.
Clean as you go. Kids are like sponges, they absorb things fast, and so parents need to set good examples. Make beds once you wake up, wash dishes after eating, and put away clothes right after laundry. When you are consistent in your housework, they tend to emulate you.

4. Teach Junior To Clean

All kids can learn how to clean. Start young and get them to keep their things in designated places when they are done. Be clear in your instructions, and have patience with them.
Nothing gets kids more excited than games so make it fun! Have a cleaning contest to see which kid does it faster, or get them to pretend they are hired cleaners for the day. Reward them when they do things well.

5. Make It A Family Activity

On weekends, a great way to clean the house fast is to organise a 30-minute clean up and get everyone on board. Turn on the music, bring out the cleaning rags, assign some age appropriate tasks for your kid, and watch the mess (and your stress) disappear.
Even if you have a helper, it is good to teach your child from young that everyone plays a part in maintaining a clean home.

6. Limit The Play Area

If you have the space, limit toys strictly to the playroom or nursery; for those with smaller spaces, designate one area of the living room for play. This way, you will not have Spiderman creeping into your bedroom, and you are less likely to fly into bouts of rage.

7. Go Digital

Love your kids’ art pieces and craftwork but cannot bear to throw them away? Keep or frame some of their favourites and as for the rest, use apps to help you keep digital archives.
You can also take photos of their pieces and keep a collage as a memory of your little Picassos instead of storing the actual pieces that will just gather dust.
Practice makes perfect and in no time, you can have a much cleaner house while staying sane.

A spick and span home starts with having the discipline in cleaning the place. Of course, there are easier ways to make your housekeeping a little easier, when you have the right home designs. Take a cue from these 8 easy-to-maintain homes designs.

Philippine arrests 10 Chinese fishermen in latest sea spat

Philippine arrests 10 Chinese fishermen in latest sea spat

MANILA (Reuters) - Two Philippine coast guard vessels intercepted a Chinese fishing boat with 10 crew off northeastern Luzon after a two-hour chase, two local broadcasters said on Friday, accusing them encroaching into Philippine territorial waters.
It was the latest in a series of similar clashes, with each side saying the other is in the wrong.
China and the Philippines are locked in a territorial dispute in the South China Sea, a strategic waterway where $5 trillion worth of ship-borne trade passes every year. Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam also have claims.
Lieutenant Jeffrey Collado told broadcasters ABS-CBN and GMA the steel-hulled Chinese fishing boat, flying a Philippine flag, tried to escape after ramming the Coast Guard boat but another vessel arrived to help stop the Chinese boat.
"The Chinese fishing boat was in Philippine territorial waters, they are not in disputed seas," he said, adding the 10 fishermen would be charged with illegal fishing.
Tension between the Philippines and China has risen as an international tribunal in the Hague prepares to deliver a ruling in the next few months in a case lodged by Manila in 2013.
The Philippines is seeking a clarification of United Nations maritime laws that could undermine China's claims to 90 percent of the South China Sea. China has rejected the court's authority.

Jeremy Irons Says Batman V Superman Deserved Bad Reviews

Jeremy Irons Says Batman V Superman Deserved Bad Reviews

During an interview with The Daily Mail, the ‘hilariously frank’ Jeremy Irons revealed exactly what he thought of ‘Batman V Superman’… as well as all those terrible reviews.
“Deservedly so,” he said about ‘Batman V Superman’ getting a kicking from the critics. “I mean it took £800 million, so the kicking didn’t matter but it was sort of overstuffed…”
Of course, Jeremy irons played Batman’s loyal butler, Alfred… but while his loyalty may have been unwavering on screen, it looks as though he doesn’t mind revealing what he really thinks about ‘Batman V Superman’.
And it isn’t good.
“It was very muddled,” he said. But apparently, there’s still hope for DC’s film future. “I think the next one will be simpler,” he added. “The script is certainly a lot smaller, it’s more linear.”
Unfortunately, it’s unclear whether he was talking about ‘Justice League: Part One’, which he is already confirmed to star, or the upcoming ‘Batman’ solo movie.
Either way, it looks as though he’ll be Alfred for some time yet.

‘I’m tied into The Batman at the minute,” he said, “which is nice because it’s a bit of income… Not that I need a bit of income but it’s nice to keep ticking over.”
It’s no secret that Alfred was seen by many as one of the high points of ‘Batman V Superman’, and for good reason – his measured, yet battle-aware version of the faithful butler really set him apart from those who came before.
And it seems that Jeremy Irons had some rather good inspiration for the character.
“‘I had dinner a few times with Paul Getty, who was a neighbour of mine in Oxfordshire,” he explained. “You’d arrive for dinner and there’d be a very nice man to open the gate, a very nice man to park your car, another very nice man to take your coat and another very nice man to give you some champagne. They were all ex-SAS.”
“The whole place was surrounded by this level of threat, and I thought, ‘Yeah, that’s Alfred’,” he added. “If I was Mr and Mrs Wayne and I had a young son I thought could be kidnapped, killed or whatever because of his wealth, I’d make sure his guardian – his tutor, his mate – was somebody pretty capable.”

Baron Geisler involved in a bar fight

Baron Geisler involved in a bar fight

30 May - Not long after he apologised for assaulting a filmmaking student following a viral video showing an altercation between them, another video has surfaced, showing actor Baron Geisler in another fight.

Although this time, it seemed that it was not Geisler who instigated it.

As reported on InterAksyon, in the video, which was first posted on Facebook by user Medmessiah CombatBoi, the actor can be seen trying to shake hands with indie actor Kiko Matos after what seemed to be an argument. The latter instead decided to punch him repeatedly before the other customers took him away.

After the scuffle, which reportedly happened at Tomato Kick on Tomas Morato Avenue in Quezon City, Geisler can be heard telling others, "For me, he disrespected that person."

According to sources, Geisler supposedly called out Matos after the latter disrespected a female bartender.

In a later interview with News5, the actor suggested that the issue has not been resolved, saying, "You, Kiko Matos, let's see each other in person. I love you, but I will hit you."

However, his management company, ALV Talent Circuit, revealed recently that the actor has had a change of heart and will has no issue reconciling in a more peaceful manner with Matos.

Matos has yet to address the issue at the time of writing.

Warriors beat Thunder to book NBA title showdown with Cavs

Warriors beat Thunder to book NBA title showdown with Cavs

Stephen Curry scored 36 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 96-88 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder and into an NBA title rematch with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Warriors, trying to cap a sensational season that included a record 73 regular-season victories with a second straight title, sealed the 4-3 series victory in the Western Conference finals on their home floor in Oakland, California -- clawing back after trailing 3-1 in the series.
The Warriors, who became the 10th team to rally from a 3-1 deficit to win a playoff series, host LeBron James and the Cavaliers in game one of the finals on Thursday.
"You've got to be appreciative of this accomplishment -- and look forward to getting four more wins," Curry said.
The Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference title, defeating the Toronto Raptors in six games to book a return trip to the finals, where they will try to avenge their six-game loss to the Warriors in last year's championship series.
The Warriors will be trying to become the league's first repeat winners since the Miami Heat -- then featuring James -- in 2012 and 2013.
Golden State had to dig deep to get the chance. After twice fending off elimination the Warriors trailed by as many as 13 in the first half on Monday and by eight early in the third quarter.
Curry, who earned Most Valuable Player honors for the second straight season, hit five of the Warriors' 10 second-half three-pointers as the reigning champions rallied again to oust the third-seeded Thunder.
"I knew we were ready for the moment," Curry said. "We were a mature basketball team that tried our best not to listen to the noise when we were down 3-1. ... In that locker room, the talk was positive."
- Moving on -
Down by six points at halftime, the Warriors out-scored the Thunder 29-12 in the third quarter to power into the lead
Back-to-back three-pointers by Klay Thompson and Draymond Green gave the Warriors an 88-77 lead with 4:44 to play in the contest.
The Thunder wouldn't go quietly, with a scoring drive from Russell Westbrook and seven straight points from Kevin Durant pulling the Thunder within 90-86 with 1:40 remaining.
"We survived by the skin of our teeth," Golden State coach Steve Kerr said. "We were able to pull it out, and we're moving on."
Curry, fouled on a three-point attempt, made all three free-throws, then produced a three-pointer that put the Warriors up by 10 with 26.8 seconds to play.
Thompson's six three-pointers made up most of his 21 points. Green finished with 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds for Golden State.
"No one had any doubts that we could get this done," Green said. 'it took a great, tremendous effort and fight to overcome (the 3-1 deficit)."
Curry, who has dealt with ankle, knee and elbow injuries in the post-season, echoed his team-mate.
"We never lost confidence, and every game just played with fearlessness and that confidence we could get back to the finals however we had to get it done," he said.
Durant admitted that surrendering that 3-1 series lead was painful.
"You've got to give credit to them," said Durant, who led the Thunder with 27 points and pulled down seven rebounds. "They came out and played well the last three games of the series and won three in a row."
Westbrook had 19 points and 13 assists, but connected on just seven of 21 shots from the field.
Overall the Thunder shot just 38.2 percent from the field -- which helped doomed their bid to become the first team in NBA history to beat two 65-win teams in the same post-season.
The Thunder had eliminated Western Conference second seeds San Antonio in the second round.
"This could have played out entirely differently," Thunder coach Billy Donovan said. "There was opportunity for us to close the series out in (games) five and six and seven, and we came up a little short."

Billboard Music Awards 2016: Ariana Grande Handles Her Red Carpet Trip Like A Pro

The incident happened as the ‘Into You’ singer headed onto a platform to speak to E! Newshost Sibley Scoles for the channel’s ‘Live From The Red Carpet’ segment.
Laughing it off, the 22-year-old joked: “I almost broke my a*s,” before later asking them to rewind the footage so she could watch her tumble in full.
Bravo, Ari, for handling that situation flawlessly. We probably would have cried.
